{"id":6,"date":"2008-08-19T01:59:35","date_gmt":"2008-08-19T01:59:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/existentialmonkey.com\/blog\/?p=6"},"modified":"2009-01-19T13:58:03","modified_gmt":"2009-01-19T13:58:03","slug":"why","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/existentialmonkey.com\/blog\/why\/","title":{"rendered":"Why?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I&#8217;m at the OKC zoo participating in a Tamron photo workshop, but the workshop has ended and now it&#8217;s time for the serious photography.\u00a0 Time to break out the Brownie Hawkeye and the Holga.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve shot all the film in the Brownie and I&#8217;m at the Island Life exhibit shooting a duck with the Holga lens poking through a gap in a lattice fence at a duck.\u00a0 There&#8217;s a boy, maybe 10 or so next to me.\u00a0 He looks at me with a strange expression and asks &#8220;what are you doing?&#8221;\u00a0 I tell him I&#8217;m taking photos with a cheap, junky, plastic, silly camera.\u00a0 I am the appropriately honest type, after all.\u00a0 He gives me an even stranger expression and asks &#8220;why?&#8221;\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Why else?\u00a0 No thought, no pause, no second guess.\u00a0 &#8220;Because it&#8217;s fun.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll add a duck photo when the film comes back from the lab because that&#8217;s fun too.<\/p>\n<p>Update:\u00a0 Here&#8217;s the photo.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3193\/2872055981_59265a5f47.jpg\"  alt=\"Quack\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So I&#8217;m at the OKC zoo participating in a Tamron photo workshop, but the workshop has ended and now it&#8217;s time for the serious photography.\u00a0 Time to break out the Brownie Hawkeye and the Holga.
